Pastor of Student Ministries

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship

- Teach biblically sound, engaging messages relevant to youth culture.  We use the Amazing Life/Orange curriculum.
- Develop and implement a discipleship pathway that encourages spiritual growth.
- Provide pastoral care, counseling, and prayer for students and families, and young adults.

Program Development

- Facilitate planning and leadership of weekly youth gatherings, small groups, and special events.
- Facilitate planning and leadership of young adult gatherings.
- Organize retreats, camps, mission trips, and outreach opportunities.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students.

Volunteer Leadership

- Recruit, train, and shepherd ministry volunteers.
- Delegate responsibilities and foster a healthy team culture.
- Help ensure compliance with child safety policies and procedures.

Family & Church Engagement

- Partner with parents/guardians to support students’ spiritual formation.
- Collaborate with church staff and ministries to align vision and calendar.
- Communicate regularly through meetings, e-mail, and social media.

Administration & Operations

- Manage the student ministry budget and resources.
- Maintain accurate records, attendance, and follow-up processes.
- Use digital tools and social media appropriately to engage students.
 

QUALIFICATIONS  

- Must be in full agreement with the essential doctrines of the Churches of God, General Conference.  
- Must be in full agreement with the mission and vision of HFCOG.  
- A degree in youth or related ministry is preferred.
- If not currently credentialed by Churches of God, General Conference, a candidate must successfully pass a theological exam conducted by the Eastern Regional Conference Churches of God Credentialing Committee.
- Minimum of 5 years serving in a local church is preferred.
- Must complete all required clearances and background checks as required by HFCOG and the state of Pennsylvania.
